About TaroTerra: How Our AI Tarot Readings Work
In short: TaroTerra is an online tarot reading service. You ask a question, pick one of 15 spreads, and draw the cards yourself from the Rider-Waite deck. Google's Gemini model then writes an interpretation based on your question, the position of each card, whether it's upright or reversed, and how the cards relate to each other. TaroTerra is a web app that lets you do a tarot reading on your own, without booking a session with a tarot reader. You get a structured written reading that helps you see your situation from a fresh angle, whether it's about a relationship, work, money, or a personal decision.

What Gemini Looks At When It Interprets Your Spread
A reading isn't a stack of card definitions copied from a reference book. The model sees your whole spread and takes into account:

how you worded your question and what it's about;

the spread layout and what each position means. In a relationship spread, for instance, "your conscious attitude" and "your partner's subconscious attitude" are different positions, and the same card reads differently in each;

whether each card is upright or reversed;

classic Rider-Waite symbolism: the scene, imagery, and suit of each card;

how the cards interact: where they reinforce each other, where they pull in opposite directions, and what overall dynamic the spread shows.
When a spread can be read two ways, the interpretation lays out both instead of pushing one. Conclusions are framed as a likely scenario and something to think about, not a verdict.
What it doesn't take into account: your previous readings (each spread is interpreted on its own), your birth date or any other astrological data, or anything beyond what you wrote in your question.
About the model: Interpretations are generated by Google Gemini through the paid API. We move to newer versions of the model as they're released, so we don't name a specific version here.

No one reads your spread. Your question is processed automatically. Our team can see a reading only if you contact support yourself and ask for help with it.

Paid Gemini API. Your request goes to Google only to generate the response. Under the paid API terms, Google doesn't use these requests to train its models.

We don't sell your data. We don't share or sell your data to advertisers or data brokers. The only services that receive it are the ones TaroTerra can't run without: Google (to generate readings), our payment provider, and our hosting provider.

Minimal account data. All you need to sign up is an email address and a name.

We don't store card details. Payments are handled by our payment provider, and full bank card details are never stored on our servers.

You control your history. You can delete your entire history or your whole account in Settings. Once an account is deleted, its data is removed from our production databases, except for records we're required by law to keep, such as payment records for tax purposes.

Tip: Don't include ID numbers, account numbers, or medical information in your question. A reading doesn't need them.

No. Nobody on our team looks at your readings. The only exception is if you contact support yourself and ask for help with a specific reading.
Is the AI trained on my questions?
No. Under the paid Gemini API terms, Google doesn't use requests to train its models.
Does the reading take my past spreads into account?
No. Each spread is interpreted separately, based only on your question and the cards you drew.
Can I treat a reading as a prediction?
No. TaroTerra is a tool for self-reflection. A reading shows possible scenarios and points out what deserves your attention, but the decisions are up to you.
What language will my reading be in?
The language you asked your question in: English, Ukrainian, Russian, or any other language.
How do I delete my data?
